关于我
(guān yú wǒ)
I am Sadie Wang Kaufman. I formulate visual sentences.
As an undergrad, I majored in fashion design at Cornell University. I will be pursuing an MFA in fine arts with a focus on printmaking and art pedagogy.
I am constantly exploring the human condition. My design practice-garment construction and printmaking-largely focus on themes of heritage, identity, and handicraft.
I am never done learning; I am never done making.

MANIFESTO
Do not illustrate in the wake of meaning. Make it.
I am not a singularity. I am not a non-contact species.
I want Accidental symmetry. I want to feel it.
I want it to happen again. I want things forever. I want to remember again. I don’t want to remember just the memory.
I want proof. I want proof.
I want it to be real. I want to know how I got here. I am here to bear witness. I am not reinventing the wheel. I am admiring its craftsmanship. I am asking how they got it to be round in the first place. Something is beautiful if I say so.
We do not need a theory for everything.
We do need words for everything. If I cannot find the words for it I blame my tongue, not language.
Language is everything, and just a tool.
So are my hands.
I want to feel skin. I want to know my pith.
